London Wildlife cleans up attics after raccoons, bats, squirrels, mice and birds in London, Ontario. Once the animals are out and the entry points are sealed, we remove droppings, bat guano, raccoon latrines, soiled nesting material and contaminated sections of insulation, then sanitize the area and leave the attic safe and ready for an insulation contractor. Call 226-271-5510 to book an inspection.
Getting the animals out is only part of the job. Raccoons, bats, squirrels and rodents leave behind droppings, urine and nesting material, and the mess stays long after they’re gone. Left in place, it can:
Raccoons use one or two spots in the attic as a toilet, called a latrine. Raccoon feces can carry raccoon roundworm, a parasite whose eggs can stay infectious for a long time. Latrines should never be swept or handled without protection. Learn more about Raccoon Removal.
A bat colony can leave a large amount of guano in an attic or wall. Bat droppings can grow a fungus linked to histoplasmosis, a lung infection that spreads by breathing in dust. Disturbing dry guano is what releases it, so guano should be removed carefully. Learn more about Bat Removal.
Squirrels, mice and rats leave droppings and urine through the attic and along their travel paths, plus shredded nesting material. Learn more about Squirrel Removal and Mice and Rat Control.
Birds that nest in vents and soffits leave twigs, grass, feathers and droppings that can block airflow. Learn more about Bird Removal.
1. Remove the animals and seal the home first. Cleaning an attic before the entry points are sealed means new animals can move in and the mess starts again. We complete the removal and exclusion work first. See How Our Wildlife Removal Works.
2. Inspection. We assess how much of the attic is affected, which animal left the mess and what needs to come out. Every home is different, so we inspect first and give you an exact quote before any work starts.
3. Protective equipment. Our technicians wear protective equipment, so dust from droppings and guano isn’t breathed in or spread.
4. Removal. We remove droppings, guano, latrines, soiled nesting material and the contaminated sections of insulation, which are usually patches rather than the whole attic, and bag it all for disposal.
5. Sanitizing. Once the material is out, we sanitize the affected area and leave the attic safe and ready for an insulation contractor.
Our focus is clean-up. Wildlife usually soils insulation in patches, around latrines, nests and travel paths, so we remove those contaminated sections along with the droppings. We don’t install or replace insulation. Once we’ve finished, the attic is clean and ready for an insulation contractor to top up or replace what was removed. If the whole attic is soiled and needs full insulation removal, we’ll tell you after the inspection and recommend an insulation company for that work.
It’s tempting to grab a shop vac, but that’s the riskiest way to do it. Vacuuming or sweeping dry droppings throws fine dust into the air, which is how roundworm eggs and the fungus behind histoplasmosis are breathed in. Attics are also hot, tight and hard to move around in, and it’s easy to step through a ceiling. If you must go into the attic, wear a well-fitted respirator and gloves, don’t disturb droppings, and keep children and pets out.
Most wildlife removal jobs in London cost about $700 to $2,000+, plus HST. Large homes that need feces clean-up and extensive exclusion work commonly reach $1,500 to $2,000 or more. The clean-up price depends on the size of the affected area, the animal involved and how much material has to come out. Every home is different, so we inspect first and give you an exact quote.

Usually, if animals lived there for more than a short time. Droppings, urine and nesting material stay behind and can carry disease and cause odours. An inspection shows how much of the attic is affected.
Yes. Raccoon feces can carry raccoon roundworm, a parasite whose eggs can stay infectious for a long time. Don’t sweep, vacuum or handle raccoon droppings without protection.
Bat guano can grow a fungus linked to histoplasmosis, a lung infection caused by breathing in dust from droppings. Don’t disturb dry guano without a respirator.
If the entry points are still open, new animals can move in and the attic gets dirty again. Removing the animals and sealing the home first means the clean-up lasts.
It isn’t recommended. Sweeping or vacuuming dry droppings puts fine dust in the air, which is how many of the health risks spread. If you go into the attic, wear a respirator and gloves and don’t disturb the droppings.

No. We remove the contaminated sections of insulation, which are usually patches, and sanitize the area. The attic is then ready for an insulation contractor to replace what was removed. If the whole attic needs its insulation removed, we recommend an insulation company.
Raccoons and bat colonies usually leave the most. Raccoons use the same latrine spots for months, and a bat colony can drop guano in the same area every summer.
